What is the difference between EUR and EPAL pallets?
EUR refers to the European pallet standard dimensions (1200x800mm), while EPAL (European Pallet Association) is the licensing and quality certification system. An EPAL pallet is a EUR-dimensioned pallet that meets strict quality standards and carries the official EPAL marking. Not all EUR-sized pallets are EPAL certified, but all EPAL pallets conform to EUR dimensions.
How do I choose the right pallet grade?
Consider your application: New/Grade A for customer-facing, export, or sensitive products; Grade B for general warehouse and distribution (best value); Grade C for internal use or single trips where appearance does not matter. Our team can help you find the optimal balance of quality and cost.
Do I need heat-treated pallets for export?
For export outside the EU to most countries (including USA, Canada, Australia, China), ISPM 15 heat-treated pallets are required. Within the EU, standard pallets are accepted. We can advise on specific country requirements and provide certified heat-treated pallets with proper IPPC stamps.
What load capacity do I need?
Consider three scenarios: Dynamic load (forklift movement, typically 1000-1500kg), Static load (stacked storage, typically 4000-5500kg), and Racking load (supported on beams, typically 750-1200kg). Choose pallets rated above your maximum expected load with a safety margin.
Can you supply pallets with specific markings or branding?
Yes, we offer custom branding, company logos, color coding, QR codes, and specific identification markings. Custom pallets can include any marking you require for inventory tracking, branding, or operational identification.
What is the typical lifespan of a wooden pallet?
A quality EUR pallet can last 5-10 years with proper use and maintenance. In a pooling system with repairs, pallets may circulate for 15-20 trips. Lifespan varies by application - careful indoor use extends life, while rough handling or outdoor exposure shortens it.
